Cost-saving ideas

- Chloe Liu Peifen with 16-mth-old Elisha Deshawn

Breastfeed!
Though the initial start-up of nursing accessories may cost a bit, we still save at least $100 per mth on milk powder. Not to mention water and detergent for washing bottles, thermo flasks and extra bottles to lug around, and time spent for preparing milk feeds. Formula milk is also wasted when it's prepared, but not finished or even refused.

Make your own baby wipes
Use cotton squares/cotton wool as baby wipes for young babies. Just purchase somr from Carrefour/ pharmacy. Pour cool boiled water over them and keep them in a plastic container with a lid. Your own baby wipes - fresh everyday!

Go out less
I'm not saying you can't go out to relax and enjoy yourself, but not everyday. Try to schedule your marketing cum shopping trips to once or twice a week. You'll save on transportation fees and eating out.

You will also see less cute baby/kid's stuff and will not end up buying them... mother's just can't help but buy stuff for our kids. In fact, fathers too.
